Unfortunately my 80mm Rodagon enlarging lens is not gonna work. Sharpness is off – I can’t get sharp grain in the scope, and its so dark its impossible to work with. So I tried to scan some of the negatives, and apparently my scanner’s backlight for film scanning is dead.

So I’m back to strictly 35mm for a while.

Today I decided to run an experiment of sorts. On the Maserati of Minneapolis website I’ve pretty much SEO’d the whole thing, but never took the time to write a proper htaccess file, or to setup for pretty URLs. Following a discussion with the guys at Rocket55 web design last night, I decided to take the time today to change this: www.maseratiofminneapolis.com/used_car_details.php?morriesid=BU70002
to this: www.maseratiofminneapolis.com/used_car_details/2007/Bentley/Arnage/BU70002/

This has the benefit of adding keywords to the URL string, and effects approximately 150 pages in total. I ran a keyword SERP test covering about 20 of my indicator search terms just before finalizing the changes, so we’ll run a weekly check to see how this effects pagerank, as well as if there will be any sandbox effect.

Nine Inch Nails puts on a helluva show. I first saw the video for Wish on MTV way back in the summer of 1991, and finally saw them live during the Fragility 1.0 tour, in the Spring of 2000. NIN does not dissapoint – even though this show was rescheduled due to illness, they made it up with a well over 2 hour show tonight. Next year marks 20 years since their first album was released, but somehow I don’t think they’ll ever qualify as classic rock…

Well, I finally feel like I got my darkroom to a place where I can print anytime I want. I still need to replace some old chemicals, and pickup some more storage jugs, but I can setup ready to print in under an hour, and teardown in 20. I decided to start tonight with some 35mm negs I’ve been wanting to print for a while. I’m happy with how they turned out. This photo was taken with my Leicaflex.

Developed 5 rolls of film tonight. Feels good to get back in the darkroom. Disappointed to see the Exacta may have a film winding issue. Right now it’s overlapping by 1/4″ so about 1/2″ short of where it should be. I just had the shutter overhauled this spring so that’s a bad sign.

Otherwise there are some solid negs to work with. The Pentacon had a CLA this spring as well and this is some of the first film through it since then. The exposures are even across the frame now and the spacing is spot on. I’m happy to have this camera back in service. I’ll push the new grease this winter to test out it’s cold weather acceptance. I think the Leica is overdue for a service too so I’m down to the Pentacon and the Pentax for regular use.

I’ll Be printing tomorrow night and hopefully will have some prints scanned in this week.

In other news I’m adding some plugins and widgets and some other gadgets to the site this weekend so hopefully this site can get rolling.
