I shot these a few years ago, and always enjoyed how they were essentially an exercise in grey tones, with very little contrast. These were shot using my old Pentacon 66 with Zeiss Jena 80mm f2.8 lens, hand held, on Ilford Delta 3200 film. I was working at dusk, with night quickly approaching. If I remember correctly I was working between f2.8 – 4, and shutter speeds nearing the slowest I can handhold, around 1/30th of a second. The 3200’s grain is pretty epic on these, and more noticeable on the film scans than when enlarged traditionally.I just got a new scanner (Epson Perfection V600) that has a pretty decent film scanner built in. I want to use it to get more of my medium format work online, since I usually print larger than my scanner can handle. I also intend to proof images digitally before working in the darkroom, to have a better plan going in and hopefully be more productive. So far I’m super happy with it.
